Coronavirus (COVID-19)

If you are planning on travelling distance to attractions, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.

Golders Hill Park

Golders Hill Park, managed by the City of London Corporation, is home to a free zoo, with a growing collection of rare and exotic birds and mammals such as laughing kookaburras, ring-tailed lemurs and ring-tailed coatis. It also houses a Butterfly house that is open from late March to October 2pm-4pm every day.
It is one of only two free zoos in London registered with BIAZA, the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
The zoo plays an important role in the interpretation and education of the habitats and wildlife of Hampstead Heath.
Members of the public are able to support the zoo and learn more about its star species via the animal adoption scheme. Six species of animal are available for adoption and in return you will receive a ’Thank you' pack containing a certificate, a photograph of your animal, a fact sheet about it and you will be entered into a free draw where the winner and two guests will go behind the scenes of the animal enclosures with the zoo keepers. In addition Golders Griffins (children joining the scheme) will receive an activity sheet, fact sheet and a picture of their animal to colour in. They will also be invited to ‘Zoodays’ run by the Heath Life Education Team.
